Job Description:
- Lead product (battery) development cycle from concept, engineering calculation, detail design, component selection and engineering drawings.
- Design of battery stack, tanks, piping, rack structures and enclosures with flow simulation (CFD) to avoid stagnant flow and reduce pressure drop.
- Ensure product design meets quality requirements and regulatory standards
- Realises tests and validates the design within targeted cost and project timeline.
- Ensure proper documentation throughout the development cycle and design change process.
- Lead and coach team of mechanical engineers
- Guide the team in performing Non-Linear, Vibration, Buckling and seismic simulation (Static & Dynamic) analysis and design validation
- Work in cross functional teams with Electrical, Software, Business development and Operations
- Our batteries are large in size and designed in different sizes of transport containers.
Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/product design engineering.
- At least 5 – 6 plus years of working experience in the related field. Knowledge of flow batteries is a plus.
- Candidate should have been involved in design and development of product from concept phase to commercialization.
- Candidate should be proficient in SolidWorks, Unigraphics NX and AutoCAD, LabView and Microsoft Office, etc.
- Should have good 2D drafting skills in part and assembly level (Preferably GD&T).
- Strong Understanding in Mechanics of Solids, FEA on tanks and structures, Fluid Dynamics/ CFD on Internal flows (Pipes, Pump Study), choosing of turbulence models.
- Should be able perform structural, vibration analysis (FEA) and CFD for the product with the help of computerised engineering tools such as Ansys Fluent, Nastran or similar.
- Competent in DFMEA (Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), DFM (Design for Manufacturing), DFA (Design for Assembly).
- Advanced understanding of different production technologies such as sheet metal, milling, casting, etc.
- Mature personality and able to work independently. Good interpersonal, management and decision-making skills.
