The Technical Superintendent is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of his assigned vessels at all times. He is guided to his work by the requirements of the vessel’s flag and port state’s regulations, classification society rules, oil major / terminal requirements, manufacturer’s recommendations and the Company’s Quality Management System. He is to ensure that vessels under his management complies with all applicable standards and recommendations. Working within a team of Marine Superintendents, Purchasers and Assistants, the Technical Superintendent is expected to provide technical management to the overall performance of assigned vessels to the satisfaction of their Owner(s). Further, he is required to undertake projects from time to time as assigned by the Shipping Manager
Requirements
- Comfortable to work in a team with diverse background.
- Travel and be stationed onboard vessels at short notice.
- Ability to focus, work and perform under pressure.
- Interact with 3rd party vendors, class Surveyors, flag and port state officers, shipyards.
- Pleasant and well mannered.
- Cooperate and achieve common organizational goals with the ship management team.
- Display mutual respect to co-workers, superiors, subordinates and all third party interests.
Recruitment Criteria
Minimum Qualification
MOT / COC Class II (Engine)
5 years sailing experience onboard Ocean Going vessels.
Preferred Qualifications
MOT / COC Class I (Engine)
Minimum 1 year as Chief Engineer onboard Ocean Going Oil Tankers
Preferred Experience
2 years’ experience in similar position
