Job Description:

Candidate’s responsibilities cover the following:

Design & Build:

• Review and advise on non-disclosure agreements, major construction tenders, project management agreements and standard industry forms of contract such as REDAS, PSSCOC, FIDIC including appropriate risk mitigation
• Participate in negotiations with counter-parties
• Recommend and implement risk mitigation processes in line with overall standard operating procedures of the organisation
• Maintain and revise standard contract templates
• Analyse and report to management on legislative developments
• Advise on, attend and manage external counsel for disputes which the organisation is involved in (especially statutory adjudication)
• Conduct trainings
• Provide legal support to overseas functions/business of the unit in Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, China and Singapore

General Corporate:

• Provide support and advice on SGX listing compliance
• Serve as the Data Protection Officer for the organisation and maintain the data protection policies
• Recommend, advise on and implement corporate policies and systems relating to anti-bribery and corruption, corporate governance, information security and sanctions compliance
• Ad hoc advice and management of acquisitions and disposals, including advice on and drafting of sale and purchase agreement, joint venture agreements as well as management of external counsel conducting due diligence

Requirements:

• Candidate should have at least 5-8 years of relevant experience in local law firms or engineering companies, construction companies or real estate developers.
• Background in funds or real estate with working knowledge of unit trusts or alternative fund structures preferred.
• Candidate must exhibit initiative, enthusiasm, good inter-personal skills, confident in decision making and be commercially minded.
