Business Development Manager Responsibilities:
- Serve as Mackay’s primary account manager for shipping companies based in Asia prospecting for new clients by networking, cold calling, and regularly visiting with shipping firms based in Singapore and surrounding areas.
- Develop a pipeline of new business by prospecting for new clients by networking, cold callings, researching, identifying, and meeting potential customers to grow, maintain, and leverage your network.
- Possess thorough knowledge of the market, the solutions/services the company can provide, and the company’s competitors.
- Promote and sell Mackay’s key marine-electronics products, including ship-board service, equipment, parts, and satellite airtime.
- Build relationships with clients through attentive service; facilitating inquiries and ensuring client satisfaction with Mackay services and products.
- Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to increased sales.
- Plan sales approaches and use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate properly.
- Generate and present proposals or quotations that speaks to the client’s needs and objectives, conduct follow ups.
- Help organize and accompany sales visits by Mackay executives.
- Responsible for roughly 75 accounts; submitting monthly sales report; and attending trade shows.
Business Development Manager Qualifications:
- 5+ years of marine electronics experience
- 2+ years in a Sales environment
- 4-year Bachelor’s degree.
- Technical expertise and experience. Good working knowledge of bridge electronics is preferred.
- Effective communicator will interact with many departments and individuals in person, or via phone and/or e-mail.
